This particular Lynda.com course was a simple, easy to follow tutorial that shared tips and secrets for effectively using your iPhone, as a professional camera. It covers tips for shooting techniques, working with different camera apps (beyond the built-in iPhone camera app), and working with a combination of apps to achieve your desired results.
iPhone Photography with Richard Koci Hernandez
The greatest tips I took away from this tutorial, was working with apps like ProCamera allowing you to lock focus and adjust exposure before taking the shot. Similar to ProCamera, an alternate is Camera Plus, which allows you to not only use the app for taking photos, but allowing the user to import images into the app for further manipulation. In essence, it is using tools and options to create a unique and individual style of capturing images. The other element that I truly appreciated, was establishing a method of telling a story through your photo images. Having an intent defined for the story you are creating. Using basic techniques of story telling through the use of wide, medium and close-up shots, as well as having an opening and ending to you visual story that shows your intent. One app I hope to explore in the future after viewing this tutorial is Blurb Mobile that can further help engage my audience with my story. Having the ability to have a primary story, sub story, and adding audio elements is a fun opportunity to play and gain experience in creating visual stories through the use of iPhone photography.
